A Day of Opportunities, Connections & Impact: TEES at Vul’Amathuba

What an incredible experience it was to be part of Vul’Amathuba.
Try Easy Electrical Solutions (TEES) is deeply grateful to the Gauteng Department of Economic Development (GDED) for the opportunity to participate in this powerful initiative. Vul’Amathuba meaning “open up opportunities” is more than a campaign. It is a deliberate effort to connect young people, artisans, graduates, and opportunity seekers with real pathways into skills development, employment, and economic participation. At TEES, our vision has always been clear: to shape the future of South African artisans, one artisan at a time. We remain committed to changing lives by empowering ambitious youth through practical training, accredited skills programmes, and clear routes into meaningful work.

Why Vul’Amathuba Matters
South Africa continues to face a significant skills gap, particularly in the technical and artisanal trades. Thousands of young people have the drive and potential but lack access to structured training, workplace experience, and the networks that turn ambition into opportunity. Vul’Amathuba addresses this head-on. Launched by GDED MEC Vuyiswa Ramokgopa, the initiative brings together government, private-sector partners, SETAs, TVET colleges, and training providers in one accessible ecosystem. It offers permanent jobs, learnerships, internships, apprenticeships, enterprise support, and skills programmes across multiple sectors. For organisations like TEES, being part of this platform is both an honour and a responsibility. It allows us to stand alongside other partners and actively contribute to bridging the gap between talented young people and the opportunities they need.

Our Commitment to Young Artisans
At TEES we specialise in developing the next generation of skilled artisans. Through accredited apprenticeships, Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL), learnerships, and hands-on workplace training, we equip young people with the technical competence and professional confidence required in trades such as electrical, welding, diesel mechanics, plumbing, and related fields.
We believe that practical, industry-aligned training combined with mentorship and real workplace exposure is one of the most effective ways to transform potential into employability. Our work is not only about producing qualified artisans; it is about opening doors to sustainable careers and economic independence.
Participating in Vul’Amathuba reinforced something we see every day in our workshops: when young people are given the right tools, guidance, and opportunity, they rise to the challenge.
The Opportunities Continue
The impact of Vul’Amathuba does not end with the launch event. The platform remains open, and TEES continues to create and share opportunities for aspiring artisans and opportunity seekers.
We encourage all young people who are serious about building a future in the trades to: Register on our Opportunity Seekers Platform: Opportunity Seeker Enrolment Form

Whether you are looking for your first apprenticeship, seeking recognition of prior learning, or simply ready to take the next step in your skills journey, we are here to walk that path with you.
Building a Stronger South Africa Together
Closing the skills gap requires partnership. Government, training providers, industry, and communities must work side by side. Initiatives like Vul’Amathuba demonstrate what becomes possible when those partnerships are intentional and focused on results. TEES is proud to play its part. We thank GDED for creating the space and the platform. The conversations, connections, and commitments made at Vul’Amathuba will continue to shape futures long after the event itself. To every young artisan still searching for their first real opportunity: keep going. The path may not always be clear, but the work of opening doors is happening. Stay ready. Stay connected. Your moment is being prepared.

Together, we can empower our youth, bridge the skills gap, and build a stronger South Africa one artisan at a time.
Thank you, GDED. The impact continues.
